Beware of the old bait and switch tactic I have signed up for broadband and phone deals here in New Zealand that were great only to have the terms change it seems a common tactic used these days to lure new customers in.

However the plan your on sounds great just wish we'd get something like it here in New Zealand internet usage via phone here prices are expensive.

Great tips Brendan! I think the most important point still remains the 'Quality Content' a great post in one of the poorest Blog can help get in good traffic where as a bad post in a good blog may get initial traffic but sooner or later it will fizzle out.

What really amazes me that in most of the popular blogs (i am not counting the best blogs here) all you get to see is ultimate use of language, but the content is same what is available every where, there is just twisting & bending of words!

I liked the comment from Tico, but I really think that the Global Link Building is going more to one side "Social", than creating content specifically, anticipation is the key to business.

Aren't this the same as the 2008/2009/2010 link building recommendations? Everybody knows that directories stopped working a long time ago. Low quality article marketing did and still works for some industries but has always been a low quality link building strategy and comment spamming has always been a black hat technique while unfortunately it still seems to work for many.

It has been a couple of years since guest posting with contextual links is the way to go but it is too time consuming and not viable when your competitors already have thousands of links.

Personally I think that facebook, google + and twitter are the future and the only viable way to get viral links. Link building is becoming more about PR, if a company manages to get a decent PR campaign out links will start coming in on their own "NATURALLY".

With one of my online retailer clients, google shopping has helped in a large way to get more globally related rankings. For sure, these are all great ideas to consider for seo.

I think local seo and internet marketing is really coming into play in advertising campaigns for small businesses. I think alot businesse that have not yet started trying to establish themselves online are not only missing out on alot of business, but also are going to have to really play catchup in the future....it could get expensive.
