Just Say NO to ODP

SEO July 15th, 2006

Hurray! Google has finally seen the light and is supporting the “NO ODP” meta tag! I noticed it right after MSN Search announced the tag and we added it to the Frames Direct web site. Rather than our description that emphasized eyeglasses, sunglasses and eyewear, the horrid ODP editor’s description was showing up in Google prior to adding the NOODP tag. Now our REAL meta description is coming up in the SERPs.

Thank you Google!

Cool. Yahoo has decided to support the NO ODP tag as well. Now if we can just get them to support a NO YAHOO DIRECTORY tag as well. THe Yahoo Directory is just as out of date as the ODP listings are.
